We had an amazing time at Surface 2024 this year and we are eager to share with you the wonderful things we discovered and the people we met! The show was packed with innovative new finishes, creative makers, and sustainability at the forefront. We found lots of inspiration for our upcoming projects, ranging from bathrooms to cafes, functional to highly decorative, and in every colour imaginable.

The Business Centre in London hosted The Surface Design Show again this year, giving visitors the chance to explore new interior finishes and get hands-on experience with the products and their creators. The booths were lively and full of samples, giving the over 5,600 visitors the opportunity to engage with new and current suppliers face-to-face.

Smile Plastics sponsored the event, making sustainability and innovation in recycled and repurposed materials the key focus. They have a growing range of solid surfaces that utilize single-use plastics, which are normally sent to landfill, these are repurposed into beautiful and functional decorative surfaces.

There were also other businesses offering similar products with different colours and recycled aggregates used to create unique finishes. Polygood was another company with a sustainable range of surface materials made from 100% recycled and 100% recyclable plastic. In addition, they launched a new product called Paper Stone, which is made from recycled paper. This award-winning composite material is made from FSC certified recycled paper mixed with a natural resin, resulting in a sustainable, versatile, beautifully textured, and incredibly strong surface material that can withstand much higher direct temperatures than plastic surfaces.
